A little ear wax (or cerumen) is harmless for your hearing, but a build-up of wax does need removal as it occludes and prevent sound from reaching your ear drum. Some lucky people do not produce wax at all, others may do in one ear only whilst many generate a dry or a wet wax in both ears, possibly at a fast rate. When left untreated this build-up of wax, can make your ears feel blocked, it can affect the hearing and/or generate tinnitus.
Hearing aid users, prone to have ear wax, experience their hearing aids cannot fully deliver the prescribed sound from the aid towards their ear drum with the presence of the built-up wax. Not only does it affect the sound quality, block the tubes, but it also causes your hearing aid to whistle when you wear it (feedback).
Intune Hearing offer one-off appointment or reduced price for regular ear wax removal using micro suction, rated the gold standard equipment and procedure (uniquely accredited by BSHAA and the British Society of Audiology).
