We all want the children to thrive in school and for them reach their full potential. Unfortunately, this is not always achievable with an undiagnosed and untreated hearing loss adding extra strain on the child’s concentration and attention. Hearing loss can be congenital or acquired and may be missed in the newborn hearing screening programme (NHSP). In addition to permanent hearing loss in children, children are also prone to ear infections and glue ear, often causing fluctuations in their hearing, affecting their listening in school. Regular hearing tests are highly recommended during the early school years to establish the child’s hearing health and to acquire the support in place if needed.
Parents will be issued with an individual report of their child’s hearing.
